Heimbach Park

Heimbach Park
Berwick Borough, Columbia County, PA 

The park is located at the intersection of S.R. 0011 Northbound (Front Street) and S.R. 0011 Southbound (Second Street). The project consisted of the demolition of all concrete sidewalks, concrete curbs, ADA accessible ramp, asphalt pedestrian crosswalks, signs, railroad ties and concrete traffic island. After all demolition was completed, installation of concrete sidewalks, concrete curbing, geotextile and crushed red brick mulch, curb ramp, brick pavers, a split face block retaining walls for flower beds, park benches, a trash receptacle, lights with a lighting control and an electrical meter. Trees, shrubs and flowers were planted.

The park was dedicated to Gary Heimbach and named Heimbach Park on November 17, 2013. Mr. Heimbach is a well-known community activist who has spent countless hours collecting sizable donations to fund many worthwhile local organizations. Donating his time and energy to sell raffles tickets for various groups, donating time to the Christmas Boulevard, Mr. Heimbach is the “go to guy” to help with charitable fund raising.
