We attended and exhibited at the 19th Annual Northeast Regional Contractors & Engineers Workshop on March 13, 2013, hosted by Northeast Pennsylvania Conservation Districts of Lackawanna, Luzerne and Wyoming counties. The Workshop is designed for those who move earth, including contractors, excavators, engineers, township road maintenance crews, public works department employees, well drillers, loggers, and surveyors. The focus of this workshop was to provide these individuals with information about controlling erosion and sedimentation pollution using the latest innovations in erosion control. Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection rules and regulations were also discussed.
We attended the Greenway Grant Workshop on February 19, 2013, hosted by Susquehanna Greenway. Our attendance to this workshop allows usto better understand and assist our clients in taking advantage of funding programs to create local park, trail, river access and conservation projects to promote healthy living and economic development.
We attended a workshop hosted by Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society on February 20, 2013, at Luzerne County Community College. Grant assistance from DCNR helps Pennsylvania communities and organizations plan, acquire, and develop recreation, park, and trail facilities and conserve open space. The Bureau of Recreation and Conservation administers the Community Conservation Partnerships Program, which combines several state and federal funding sources including the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund; Environmental Stewardship Fund; Pennsylvania Recreational Trails Program; and the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
Bowl For Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters’ signature fundraiser. Each year half a million people across America come together to have fun and raise money to support Big Brothers Big Sisters as we change how children grow up! Peters Consultants’ staff put together a team to bowl and raise money for this very important event in our home county.
