PCI participated by exhibiting at the Luzerne, Bradford, Columbia and Union County’s Township Officials Annual Conferences from August – October. Every county in Pennsylvania (except Philadelphia, which has no townships) has formed a county association of township officials.  Members of these county associations meet regularly to discuss issues of local and regional importance.  The conferences typically include training opportunities, guest speakers from the state and local level, and exhibits by vendors hoping to do business with local municipalities.

What is an Elevation Certificate?

FEMA has developed a standardized Elevation Certificate form that is used to gather elevation data for the purpose of accurately assessing flood risks to structures located in Flood Hazard Zones. An Elevation Certificate must be prepared and certified by a Pennsylvania licensed Land Surveyor.  An Elevation Certificate contains:

  • Accurate determination of Flood Zone and Base Flood Elevation (BFE)
  • Geographic location of structure (latitude & longitude)
  • Ground elevations adjacent to structure foundation

PMAA’s Annual Conference & Trade Show is the largest gathering of authority board members, managers, engineers, and consultants in Pennsylvania.  The event was August 25 – 28 and held at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel in State College, PA.
